- Tell me what you were doing and what happened, with the exact wording of any message
- Attach the problem report or log for that app if it has one. Each section below says where to find it

VOCA
MacApple SiliconmacOS 13 or laterProduct pageUser manual (PDF)
The fastest way to get help
Choose Get Help… from the VOCA menu in your menu bar (or the ? button in the control panel). Describe what happened, leave Attach a problem report ticked, and press Send to support. It comes straight to me, and I reply to your email. The report holds your settings and recent logs. It never includes audio, voice prints, anything you said, or your licence key.
Prefer email? Choose Save Problem Report to Desktop from the same menu and attach the zip it makes.
Quick fixes
- No captions. Check Captions is on (top of the Captions page), then the Levels on Live, then Audio. If the preview shows nothing either, quit VOCA and open it again.
- Captions show in VOCA but not on your stream. Refresh the browser source in your streaming app. Do the same after updating VOCA.
- A guest is never captioned. Check Guests on a call on the Audio page, and that Screen Recording is allowed for VOCA (it takes the sound only, never the picture). Then quit and reopen VOCA. Using Zoom inside Ecamm? Choose Zoom guests via Ecamm.
- Scenes don't switch. Check Auto switching is on and the Scene app on Speaker scenes says connected. Ecamm features need Ecamm 4.6 or later. OBS needs its WebSocket server turned on (Tools, WebSocket Server Settings). Camo Studio needs its AI agent add-on with Allow control on.
- A trigger word doesn't fire. Use Test a word on the Audio page and add the fix it suggests. Scene, Ecamm and shortcut cues need phrases of two words or more.
- "This licence is already active on 2 Macs." Your licence covers two Macs. On the Mac you no longer use, choose Deactivate This Mac… from the VOCA menu, then activate on the new one.
- Updates. VOCA checks once a day. To check now, choose Check for Updates… from the VOCA menu.
Trigger Packs
Needs VOCA 2.6 or later on a MacTrigger Packs
Quick fixes
- Installing. Keep the download zipped. In VOCA open Triggers, click Add a graphics pack and choose the zip, or drag the zip onto the Triggers page. Double-clicking the zip in Finder unpacks it instead, which VOCA doesn't need.
- "This pack was made for a newer VOCA." Update VOCA (Check for Updates… in the VOCA menu), then add the pack again.
- A second pack added fewer graphics than expected. Every pack uses the same 20 trigger words, and a phrase that is already one of your words is left out (shown outlined). Change the phrase to add it.
- "VOCA holds 30" trigger words. Untick some of the pack's words, or choose Replace.
- Adding the same pack again updates it in place. Remove pack takes out its words, graphics and lower third looks.
When you email, say which pack, your VOCA version and the exact message VOCA showed. A VOCA problem report (see VOCA above) helps too.
Mix Companion
Stream Deck pluginRØDECaster Duo and Pro IIMac and WindowsStream Deck 7.1 or laterFull help on the product page
Quick fixes
- A key's settings say "Desk offline". The plugin hasn't read your desk yet. Check the desk is on and connected to the computer by USB, and that the RØDECaster App can see it. If the App can't see it either, the problem is the USB connection. The list fills in by itself a few seconds after the desk connects. If it stays offline, quit Stream Deck completely, open it again, and email me the log.
- Keys say "no engine". The plugin itself didn't load on this computer. Reinstall it from your download and email me the log.
- The volume dial or keys say LOCKED. On purpose. Open the settings of a Channel Volume dial or a Volume Up key and tick Let the Stream Deck drive channel levels.
- A fader stops responding. Restart Stream Deck, or hold the Restore Faders key for one second. It gives every fader back to the desk.
- Mix Companion works with the RØDECaster Duo and Pro II only, not the first-generation RØDECaster Pro or the RØDECaster Video.

When you email, say which desk and its firmware (Settings, About on the desk), Mac or Windows, your Stream Deck app version, whether the desk goes straight into the computer or through a hub, and what you pressed and what happened.
Voice Visualizer
MacmacOS 13 or laterApple Silicon and IntelProduct pageHow-to guide (PDF)
The diagnostics page
While the app is running, open http://localhost:8765/diag in your browser. It checks each source every two seconds and says in plain English whether audio is reaching it. Press Copy report and paste it into your email, or Save as file and attach it.
Quick fixes
- Nothing is drawing. Check capture is running (Start) and the Signal meter moves. Pick your real mic: chat and virtual devices stay silent unless a call is live.
- It reacts to room noise. Raise the Noise gate a step and try the Voice range. If it barely moves, raise Sensitivity.
- A remote guest's visualizer is silent. Check the right call app is selected, the guest is set to Remote, and a voice print is recorded. Remote guests need Screen Recording permission.
- Bars stuck at full height. Update to the current version. This was fixed in 1.8.2.
- The overlay looks out of date. Refresh the browser source in your streaming app.
- "This licence is already active on 2 Macs." Choose Deactivate this Mac on the Mac you no longer use, then activate on the new one.
Profile Manager for Ecamm
MacProduct pageFeature guide (PDF)
Quick fixes
- Cleanup is locked. Quit Ecamm first. The open show can use files Ecamm hasn't saved yet, so cleanup only runs while Ecamm is closed.
- "Asset cleanup unavailable". Another profile couldn't be read, so nothing can be proven unused. The app will still delete the profile itself, just not its files.
- A profile shows missing assets. The file was moved or deleted outside the app. Use Reveal in Finder, or rebuild that overlay in Ecamm.
- Deleted something by mistake. Open the Trash, right-click the file, choose Put Back, then restart Ecamm.
- Ecamm still shows a deleted profile. Restart Ecamm. It reads the folder when it opens.
- Asset sizes haven't appeared yet. A big library can take a couple of seconds.
When you email, say the app version, your macOS and Ecamm versions, the exact on-screen message, and roughly how many profiles you have.
Stream Deck Manager
MacApple SiliconProduct page
Quick fixes
- Buttons broken after a plugin was removed. Open the Missing filter, expand the entry to see which devices, profiles and actions it affects, then reinstall the plugin with the Marketplace link.
- Before you restore a backup. Restoring replaces all your current profiles, and changes made since that backup are lost. Make a fresh backup first. Stream Deck quits and restarts by itself during a restore.
- A device shows that isn't plugged in. Expected. Devices that aren't connected are still listed from your saved setup.
- Where are my backups? Choose Open Backup Folder from the app menu.
- Updates. Choose Check for Updates… from the app menu.
When you email, say the app version, your macOS and Stream Deck app versions, which tab you were on, and the exact text of any red error message, ideally with a screenshot.
Stream Deck Plugin for Moom
MacNeeds Moom by Many TricksStream Deck 7.1 or laterProduct page
Quick fixes
- "Couldn't read your Moom layouts". Update to version 1.3.0.2, which fixes this for Moom from Setapp and the Mac App Store. Your version is shown at the bottom of the key's settings.
- A layout you just saved isn't in the list. Moom saves its settings a few seconds late. Click the refresh button (↻) in the key's settings.
- Every press fails. The first press asks to let Stream Deck control Moom. If that was declined, turn it back on in System Settings, Privacy & Security, Automation.
- The Save key does nothing on a tap. Hold it for just under a second. The hold guard can be switched off for each key.
- Updates. The Stream Deck app doesn't update plugins installed from this website. Watch for the update banner in the key's settings.
The log file
Zip and send this folder: ~/Library/Application Support/com.elgato.StreamDeck/Plugins/com.neilfarrimond.moom-layout.sdPlugin/logs/
When you email, say the plugin version, your Moom version and where you got Moom (direct, Setapp or the Mac App Store), your macOS and Stream Deck app versions, and the exact message in the key's settings.
