Terms
These terms cover buying and using VOCA · Live Show Assistant ("VOCA", formerly Live Show Captions and Live Show Director) and VOCA Trigger Packs from neilfarrimond.live. VOCA is made and sold by Neil Farrimond, a sole trader in Portugal ("I", "me").
1. What you're buying
VOCA is a Mac app, delivered as a download with a licence key. Trigger Packs are graphics and trigger words for VOCA, delivered as downloads.
2. Price and payment
VOCA is a one-time purchase. You pay once and keep it: no subscription and no renewal. The price is shown on the product page and at checkout, including VAT where it applies. Payment is handled by Stripe; I never see your card details. Your licence key is emailed to your purchase address straight after payment.
3. Your licence
- One licence covers up to 2 Macs that you own or control.
- Your key is personal to you. Don't share, publish or resell it. I may switch off keys that are shared, leaked or bought fraudulently.
- Updates are free for as long as I offer them. Updates can add, change or remove features.
- VOCA is licensed, not sold. The full terms of use are in the VOCA Licence Agreement, which you accept when you install VOCA. If the licence agreement and these terms disagree about a purchase, these terms win.
4. Free trial
You can try the whole app free for 7 days. No card is needed, and the days only start counting when you first start captions. When the trial ends, VOCA stops captioning until you enter a licence key. Your settings stay on your Mac.
5. Refunds
Please use the free trial to check VOCA works on your setup before buying.
If VOCA or a Trigger Pack doesn't work on your supported Mac and I can't fix it, I'll refund that purchase in full. Email support@creatorcafe.live.
EU right of withdrawal. VOCA and Trigger Packs are digital content delivered straight away. When you buy, you agree to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal once the download starts. This does not affect the refund promise above or your other rights under consumer law.
6. YouTube and other services you connect
VOCA can connect to services you already use, such as YouTube and Restream, to work with your live chat. These connections are optional, and you can disconnect them at any time.
By connecting your YouTube account to VOCA, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google handles your data under the Google Privacy Policy. How VOCA uses data from YouTube is set out in my privacy policy.
Other services you connect are covered by their own terms. VOCA only posts into your chat when you tell it to, and you are responsible for what you post.
7. Requirements
VOCA needs an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later. Some features need other apps (for example Ecamm, OBS or Zoom), which you get separately.
8. Live captions are not perfect
Live transcription makes mistakes. VOCA is a production tool, not a substitute for a dedicated accessibility or compliance service.
9. Ownership
VOCA, its interface, caption styles, graphics, Trigger Packs and documentation are owned by Neil Farrimond and protected by copyright. Buying gives you the right to use them as described here and in the licence agreement, nothing more.
10. Liability
VOCA is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, my total liability to you is limited to what you paid me in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under EU or Portuguese consumer law.
11. Governing law
Portuguese law and applicable EU law. If you're a consumer, you keep the protections and the right to go to court in your own country.
